Were you financially stable when you had your first baby?

We are not, but we are not poor.It is such a struggle.My son is 15 months and I work retail and my husband is starting a 2 year mechanic program next month.Some people I know that are younger than me (i am 29) talk about wanting to have babys and I try and talk them out of it.What is your situation?
