Will I be effected by my fiances previous home loan when we get married?

My fiance and I are going to get married next year. He name is currently on the loan for his mothers house. If we get married and his mothers home goes into foreclosure, will I be financially effected? I live in California which is a community property state, but if the loan was processed before we are married, will I still be effected?
