My friend has a tube in her side?

She wasn't born with kidneys, I can figure this because kidneys clean out you system and without them you will get very sick and will die. She is on dialysis. A doctor puts her to a machine witch cleans out her blood, Making her not sick but is on a weekly basis or Daily depends on her doctors exam.
